Google Plus invite is expanding very fast. Goog is slated to double its users in beta version to raise threat to Facebook

Google has reportedly taken steps to double members in its newly-launched social networking site Google Plus. Since the Plus is turning a huge hit among tech geeks, The Web search giant has planned to add as many as members in the beta version itself, reports indicate.

Google launched its social networking site a few weeks back. The site has been remaining in invitation-only mode since it launch. Earlier the company throttled entry of the users into the site through strict control over sign-up even if you have received an invitation.

Of now Google has speculatively removed the strictness. The company on its mission to dominate Facebook will be adding more people to the platform through its innovative marketing techniques.

“Things are going well with the systems right now so we feel comfortable enough to open up invites for a brief period. Our goal is to double the user base in the field trial from its initial group,” says Dave Besbris, director of the Google+ engineering.

Google Plus has been largely touted as a threat to Facebook, which has more than 600 million users. Thanks to several incredible features, Google Plus remains in the debates of social networking buffs.

With a pick of stunning features such as Circles, Stream, Sparks and Hangouts, it is said that Google Plus can be competitive in the social networking arena. But only time can prove Google Plus’ chance to win the ground overwhelmingly dominated by Facebook.
